Scarlett Johansson in View from the Bridge

Scarlett Johansson in View from the Bridge

BRITTANY:

BRITTANY:

I recently got to see the broadway play A View from the Bridge starring Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber. I REALLY liked this play, and have to say that Scarlett Johansson was amazing; her performance stole the show, and it really showed her range as an actress. It’s funny ’cause I never consisered Scarlett Johansson as a dramatic actress…she did action, she did comedy, but I never really put her in the same category as Meryl Streep or Katherine Hepburn — that is, until I saw this play! A View from the Bridge will show Hollywood what an amazing “serious actress” Scarlett Johansson is. I can’t wait to see what she will do next in her career.

Liev Schreiber also put on a good performance too. The guy that played the lawyer was equally good, as was Jessica Hecht.

The play took place in the 1950s and all the fashion was (obviously) reminiscent of that time. My only complaint is that, although Scarlett was incredibly beautiful, she lacked HAWT accessories. I think some 50s inspired vintage necklaces would have given her character’s outfit a little hotness.

If you’re in the NYC area, I strongly suggest you see this play. A View from the Bridge is playing at the Cort Theatre at 138 West 48th Street on Broadway.

BRITTANY:

We would like to take this time to formall BEG Tavi Gevinson to post a review of Brittany & Cooper on her uber-chic website called Style Rookie.

Tavi’s website is a unique take on the fashion industry, and a lot of people respect her because of the unique perspective she brings to the fashion business. Personally, I’m so sick of the Vogue and Cosmo view of theĀ  fashion world. Tavi offers an unseen glimpse into the fashion business; the writing and commentary on her website, Style Rookie, is fresh and phenomenal.

Tavi is doing a great job, and we really hope that she finds the time to post a review on BrittanyandCooper.com — we don’t care if it’s good or bad, we want to know what people think!

SECRETS & LIES: SERENA AND TRIPP’S AFFAIR REVEALED ON GOSSIP GIRL

Serena, Almighty Queen Bee

Serena, Almighty Queen Bee

BRITTANY:

BRITTANY:

The secrets and lies all came boiling over this episode, and came to a big, climactic Thanksgiving dinner on the Upper East Side. This was a great episode and worth the two week wait.

Just as I predicted in an eariler post, Serena got tripped up and fell hard for Tripp Van Der Bilt. In typical Gossip Girl fashion, someone was watching and S and T were caught on camera. And who tripped up Tripp and exposed his affair with Serena? None other than his cousin Nate Archibald. It was classic GG ’cause just when everything looked like it was going in one direction, someone was waiting in the wings to turn everything upside down and cause all kinds of drama.

But the affair seemed like more than just a casual fling, and near the end I actually started to feel sorry for Serena and Tripp’s doomed love. He actually seems like he cares about her. Seems like S made her deceptive decision and decided to run off with Tripp. Don’t fall S, these rash decisions can be dangerous.

The love triange with Vanessa and Dan turned out to be totally boring. Guess what V, LonelyBoy has had Brooklyn. He wants the Upper East Side. You don’t have a chance.

Lily and Rufus’ storyline was beyond boring as usual. Totally uneventful.

Little J’s throne is in jeaordy ’cause Erik and Jonathan are ready to strike and take her down.

Overall, the best part of this episode was the drama between Serena and Tripp (and eventually Nate). It should make for interesting episodes to come.

I’m sure the Van Der Bilt’s and van der Woodsens will be battling it out in the press for many weeks to come.

Peace,
Brittany
